One number every client can move.

The Athena Financial Health Score gives every household one number they understand. It rises as clients act, so they stay engaged between meetings. It shows your team what to fix first, so you know where to spend your time. And it works the same for every household in your book — including the smaller accounts — so showing progress is as simple as pointing at the score.

Who this guide is for. Advisors who want every client engaged between meetings, and a clear, explainable way to show each household it is making progress.

What the Health score does for your firm

  • One number clients get

A single score from 50 to 100 that every household understands at a glance.

  • Engagement between meetings

The score moves as clients act, so they keep coming back to your app.

  • Clear priorities

The weakest pillar shows your team what to fix first in every household.

  • Progress you can show

A history of the score turns every review into a story of progress.

One number every client understands

Most clients will never read a plan cover to cover. Every client understands a number that goes up. The Health score boils a household’s near-term financial footing down to one score, with a clear status beside it — good, attention, or risk — and the pillars that explain it.

It answers the question clients actually care about between meetings: if something went wrong this quarter, would we be okay? And it answers it in your firm’s app, under your brand.

The client app’s Health page: a score of 86 marked Good and up 8 points, the three pillars below target, and the score’s history with its projected trend.
The Health page in your branded app: the score, how far it has moved, the pillars below target, and where the score is heading.

It moves when clients act

The score recalculates as the household’s accounts change, so effort shows up quickly. Build the cash cushion, trim spending, pay down a high-interest card, or raise a retirement contribution, and the score rises. Recent improvement earns extra points on top, so clients feel momentum from their first step.

That is what keeps households opening your app every week. And because each client sees how far their score has moved, showing progress in a review takes one glance, not a slide deck.

Know what to fix first

Every household’s score breaks down into pillars, each with its own score and status. The weakest pillar is where the next conversation starts — a thin cash cushion, spending that runs ahead of income, or a balance past due. Each pillar shows the recommendations waiting on it, and clients always see one clear next step in the app.

Your team opens Mission Control and sees the same score on every household, so you know where your time will make the biggest difference.

Prioritized recommendations in the client app: a high-priority sweep of $340 in idle cash to savings, then a medium-priority step to capture the full employer match.
Recommendations ranked by impact: the step that moves the score most comes first, ready for the client to approve.

Progress clients can see

Nothing keeps a client engaged like seeing the work get done. Every step a household finishes — a cash sweep, a raised contribution, autopay on a card — lands in one running list in the app, so clients see how much has already been taken care of. That is the feeling of having an advisor in their corner every week, not just at the annual review.

For your firm, it is momentum you never had to chase. Clients act on their own, the score moves, and your team spends its time on the households where a conversation will make the difference.

The Athena Completed list: a cash sweep in progress, and a raised 401(k) contribution, card autopay, a cash cushion and an insurance review marked done.

Every household, every account size

The score is built from what a household does with its money — cash, spending, debt, savings, and coverage — not from how much it has invested with you. A young family with a small account gets the same score, pillars, and next steps as the top of your book. That makes it easy to serve the smaller accounts well, and to show them progress from day one.

A score you can explain

Clients trust a number they can understand, and so do advisors. The Health score is a weighted average of seven pillars, each running from 50 (nothing in place yet) to 100 (the target is met), with points in between for progress toward the target.

When a pillar does not apply — no debt, or no coverage on record — it drops out and its weight is spread across the others. A mortgage is not held against anyone, and retired households are scored against retiree targets, not a saver’s.

Built for honest conversations:

the Health score measures how well a household could absorb a surprise right now. It is not a credit score or a retirement-readiness verdict — your plan covers that.

Make every review a progress report

The score keeps its history, so a review opens with a story instead of a spreadsheet: where the household started, what they did, and how far the number has come. Clients remember that story — and it is the reason they stay with your firm and refer their friends.

  1. Starts with a clear score

    Day one in your app

  2. Takes the next step

One at a time, ranked by impact

  3. Sees the score rise

    Effort shows up quickly

  4. Reviews progress

With your team, on the same record
