Tax-aware investing that runs itself. You supervise the exceptions.

You set your firm’s investment policy once. Every night, Athena harvests usable losses, places assets in the accounts where the tax treatment helps, rebalances when household risk has drifted far enough to matter, and puts leftover cash to work. In the morning your team works the exceptions in Mission Control instead of a trading checklist. Every household gets the same tax-aware care, custody stays at Schwab, and your advisors stop being the rebalance desk.

What investing does for your firm

  • Scale

    More households, same team

Tax-aware care for every household runs without adding a trader or an operations hire.

  • Every night

    No rebalancing by hand

Harvesting, location, rebalancing, and cash run to your policy while you sleep.

  • Every morning

    Only what needs a person

Mission Control brings your team the exceptions, with the household beside each one.

  • Every account size

    Top-of-book care for all

Smaller households get the same tax-aware investing as your largest clients.

Your policy, carried out every night

Your firm decides how its clients invest. You set your asset classes, your models, the ETFs you approve for each class, and how much in gains a household can take in a year — and a second person at your firm approves every change. Athena carries that policy out on every household, every night, the same way every time.

That consistency is what lets one advisor supervise far more households. Nobody on your team is running a rebalance spreadsheet or remembering which client has a harvest coming. The policy does the work, and your advisors spend their time on clients.

Four jobs, one household run

Every night, four jobs run as one household investment policy. If a job has nothing to do, it holds. When it fires, it follows the same household rules as the rest of the run.

  1. Harvest

Sell a usable taxable loss and buy an approved peer, so the household stays invested.

  2. Locate

Place holdings in the accounts where the tax treatment helps.

  3. Rebalance

Trade only when household risk has drifted far enough to matter.

  4. Reinvest

Put leftover cash to work in what’s underweight, after the rest is done.

The order matters. Cash goes to work only after harvesting, location, and rebalancing are done, so the money that’s left is real and no trade is undone the next night.

The household, not each account

Most households hold a taxable account, a Traditional IRA, and a Roth. Athena measures risk across all three together, then places each holding where the tax treatment works best. Each account can look different while the household stays right on policy.

Household
Stays on your investment policy across all three

Athena never sells appreciated taxable holdings just to make an account match the model, so clients don’t get a tax bill for cosmetics. That is the kind of care clients notice at tax time, and the kind that keeps them with your firm.

Harvest the loss, keep the exposure

When a taxable loss is worth harvesting, Athena sells that lot and buys an approved peer ETF in the same asset class for about the same dollars. The household stays invested, its allocation doesn’t move, and the loss is there for the client’s tax return.

Wash rules across the household:

a sold fund can’t be bought back in any of the household’s taxable, Traditional, or Roth accounts for about thirty days, so a purchase in the IRA never undoes a harvest in taxable.

Harvesting, wash controls, location, and rebalancing bands are covered in detail in our tax-aware ETF methodology guide.

Your firm keeps every decision that belongs to an advisor: the policy, the exceptions, and the calls only a client can make — like whether to sell a concentrated stock, or take more gains than usual this year.

Mornings that start with exceptions

Your team opens Mission Control, your household CRM, and sees what ran overnight and what needs a person, with the household beside each decision. Quiet households near policy stay quiet. That is the process working, not something to chase.

Monday starts with exceptions, not a household rebuild.

Custody stays at Schwab

Your clients’ accounts stay at Charles Schwab, with no repapering. Athena works on top of the custodian you already use, and the household’s investing sits on the same record as its plan, its messages, and its app.

Investing is one part of a single platform: tax decisions connect to each household’s plan, clients see their portfolio in the client app, and exceptions land in Mission Control. Questions about data and controls are answered on our Security page.
